Israel and Allies Checkmate Iran
Over the past few days we have witnessed many miracles in the world that have a connection to our Holy Land. Without a doubt, we have to be thankful to G-d for the miracles He is constantly performing for us. I have prepared a brief review based on an article by our analyst, R. Avishai Ifergun.
As is known, in spite of the accords on the nuclear program, Iran was clandestinely involved in the development of nuclear weapons which was a clear threat to Israel and other countries.
When on April 7, 2018, thanks to the pressure from the US President, a peace treaty was signed between North and South Korea, it followed that North Korea would stop supporting Iranian terrorist activities.
In early May, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed Iran’s nuclear archives smuggled out by Israeli intelligence services. This was proof that Teheran was secretly continuing work on nuclear development while covering this fact up from the world community.
Following that, on May 8th, 2018, President Donald Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal with Iran and threatened them with serious consequences. As it has often been often the case, he has kept his word.
Additionally, the situation in Syria where Iranian terror cells are based, has worsened. The Israeli Air Force struck those bases causing significant damage. This followed an Iranian attack involving 26 missiles, each such missile weighs over 500 pounds, is very precise and has a tremendous destructive power. Yet, how can it be explained that of the 26 missiles, 20 fell in Syrian territory and the rest were destroyed by Israeli anti-missile defenses? This was clearly a case of divine intervention.
In response, the Israeli Air Force struck over 50 targets including air force bases, radar stations, and munition dumps. Additionally, the car used as a command post to coordinate attacks against Israel was also destroyed. Miraculously, the Syrians did not activate their air force or the Russian-supplied anti-aircraft system protecting Damascus (the Russians were notified beforehand) and there was no response from Iran. As a result, the Iranian infrastructure in Syria was severely damaged. Following that, Russia announced the cessation of anti-missile deliveries to Syria. These are some of the most sophisticated such systems in the world.
It’s worth noting that during Netanyahu’s visit to Moscow, he most likely requested Putin not to get involved in Israel’s dealings with Iran and Syria.
Other countries as well have expressed their support for Israel’s struggle against terrorism and condemned Iran’s provocations. Notably, the Foreign Minister of Bahrein expressed his country’s support for Israel’s actions.
In the collection of Chassidic tractates from 5692 (1932) it’s stated that Lag B’Omer is the day of signing the marriage contract between the groom (an allusion to G-d) and the bride (the Jewish people) and the days between Lag B’Omer and Shavuot is a time when the groom sends the bride gifts.
Let’s recall that the Six Day War in 1967 was predicted by the Rebbe 10 days before it broke out, the Rebbe also predicted the destruction of the nuclear reactor in Iraq in 1981. We can surmise that one such gift that a groom gives to the bride was the pullout from the notorious Iran nuclear deal.
Thus we see how starting from the holiday of Passover, more and more positive changes are taking place. The Rebbe, King Moshiach promised us that the Redemption would be taking place amidst tranquility and compassion. And this is indeed what we are witnessing!
Along with the gratitude for the miracles the Almighty is performing in front of our eyes, me should increase our faith and connection with the Rebbe – the prophet of the generation who as King Moshiach foresaw all these miracles and requested to publicize the words of the Midrash – “My children, do not be afraid, the time of your Redemption has arrived!”
Also, as a response to Iranian threats, we must remember the words of the Rebbe, King Moshiach that “the Land of Israel is the safest place on earth” and while expressing out trust and gratitude to G-d for the miracles, we will joyously reach the complete and total Redemption!
